EELCO VAN DEN BERG
Eelco van den Berg (a.k.a. D-virus) Illustrator, painter, graffiti writer and dj.
Dutch artist that never sits still and has lunch behind his computer.
Raised up in Uden and got spelled by hip hop and graffiti during elementary school. His work is mostly hand-drawn and stands out by its strong use of colours and outlines, combined with highly decorative elements. His portfolio shows the variety of work he makes and the variety of clients he works for.
Eelco’s work has been featured national and international resulting in work made for: Computer arts, Camel, Bacardi, The Guardian, Levi’s, Onitsuka Tiger, Canon, The Artbook, Shell, Toydigger, ABN AMRO, De Fish, Bingo records, FNV, and Hi. He has been a guest teacher at the School of Visual Arts in Rotterdam teaching illustration technique. Working for Instant Acts Berlin he has given graffiti lectures and workshop in german jails. For Bacardi Eelco makes an peoples-wall during the B-live club nights where the audience are featured on the wall in a typical Eelco collage style. His artwork has been featured on a wide range of media’s like: books, t-shirts, skateboards, tv, record covers, flyers, posters, stickers, surfboards, exhibitions, walls, calendars and bags.
Eelco has received a D&AD Silver award nomination for his work for Levi’s and has been on national television at Klokhuis that made an special about him featuring his work and way of working. For Bread and Butter he made a serie of art used for decoration and clothing.
Eelco currently lives in Rotterdam.
